Care Ministries

Prayer
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
-
James 5:16

At New Community Church we believe in prayer and the power of prayer.  We have many opportunities for group prayer during the week in our Bible Studies and in our Sunday morning and evening services.  For individual prayer, we offer a weekly Prayer Sheet which lists prayer requests.  Church attendees can pick up this Prayer Sheet at the Information Booth or Welcome Center, take it home and pray for these individuals and families.  In addition, our Care Leadership Team meets every Monday morning to talk about the needs of every person on this list and pray for them.

If you have a Prayer Request, you can call the Prayer Line at 361-6014 ext. 125 and leave a message.

Card Ministry
A card can mean so much to a person who is going through difficulties such as the death of a loved one, surgery or illness. Cards are also sent to celebrate with people in happy times such as anniversaries or the birth of a new baby. Addresses are included on the weekly Prayer Sheet and can be picked up at the Welcome Center or Information Booth.

Meal Ministry
The purpose of the Meal Ministry is to provide meals on a short term basis for a person or family that has a need. Needs include (but are not limited to) surgery, hospitalization, illness or death of an immediate family member.

Visitation Ministry
Our Visitation Team calls on those who are ill or recovering in the hospital or at home. Some team members make funeral home calls for those who have lost a loved one. Others call on shut ins in their homes or nursing homes.

New Babies Ministry
When we get the good news that a new baby has been born into our church family, we make plans to make our own special “delivery.” Our team puts together a Baby Bag which includes a handmade blanket, a Baby Bible and a book for the new parents, among other items. We also deliver some homemade food because we know the family is extra busy.
